Alison Honoured for Services to Girls Football

SWF Award Nov 2010

On Friday 26th November Falkirk Ladies FC Club Administrator and 17s team coach, Alison Mackie, was awarded the 'Services to Girls Football' trophy at the 2010 SWF/SFA Gala Awards Dinner.  The annual awards ceremony was held at The National Stadium, Hampden Park in Glasgow and Alison was honoured for her 17+ years of work with Falkirk Ladies FC and for the support she gives to various committees that look to develop the girls'/womens' game in Scotland.

Alison is pictured above with the sponsor of the Soccerworld Services to Girls Football Award, Audrey Murphy, General Manager of Soccerworld in Glasgow.

Alison had been nominated for the award by the Central Region League Management Committee and the Board of Scottish Women's Football selected the winner from nominations throughout Scotland.  At the ceremony in November Audrey Murphy explained that it was the time and commitment that Alison gives to developing both Falkirk LFC as a club and her desire to provide the best opportunities for the players at all ages that helped in their decision.

Alison was unaware that she had won the award when she attended the ceremony and as she accepted the award from TVand radio presenter, Alison Walker, she said "Thank you to everyone at Falkirk Ladies over the past 17 years.  I love working with all the players, coaches and volunteers at the club and love seeing them all progress regardless of what level they get to"
