Bo'ness 0 v 2 Falkirk

(November 06, 2005)

Falkirk moved into 4th position in the league after a 2-0 victory, against Bo'ness.

The pitch conditions were poor and made a passing game very difficult, it was however Falkirk that enjoyed much of the pressure and it was a mix of good goalkeeping and poor finishing that kept the score at 0-0.

One incident with McGrory through to the 6yd box when she was taken out with the goal gaping however the ref waved play on to a stunned crowd.

The bairns struggling for the opener but, when it did come it was a cracker, turning the defence Alana Marshall swept the ball into the bottom corner with 40 mins gone, much to the relief of the team.

Although Bo'ness were at theie best into the second half, Falkirk enjoyed most of the attacking play, and the game very much continued as it did in the first with Casey and McGrory being more than a handful for the Bo'ness defence, it was Marshall who provided the second goal with a deep cross for Alyson Casey to hit home from close range.

Player of the match, Alana was robbed of a second when the keeper made a wonder save from a long distance shot.

Coach Dibdin, said after the game 'It was always going to be a difficult game for us, Bo'ness are a solid unit, it was important that we got 3 points and the team went about the task efficiently' he picked out Alana and Fiona Kane for top players on the day 'Alana ran riot everytime she got the ball and captain Fiona put in the steel into the defence with a solid performance'.

Falkirk are on the road again next week with a game away to Hutchie Vale.

Falkirk Team:

Fiona Melville, Fiona Kane, Vicky Yuill, Claire Harris, Ashley McDonald, Alyson Casey, Kelly Fullerton, Angie Reid (Shirley Martin), Alana Marshall, Kerry Graham, Audrey McGrory
