U13s Remain Top of League (August 15, 2009) The U13s played Falkirk Academy Reds this morning at Sunnyside where the rain had fallen for most of the previous day. However with a couple of large puddles on the park the referee decided the game should go ahead.It was the Reds who started the stronger and scored the fist goal after 7 mins but this was enough to lift Falkirk and less than a minute later Jas equalised and Falkirk kept the pressure on scoring every few minutes until half time. Goals came from Shalana, 2 from Rachel and it was Kiera who finished the half with her first goal for the team. Half Time: Falkirk Ladies 5 - 1 Falkirk Academy Reds Again it was the reds who came out the stronger in the second half and scored just after the restart, 5-2 but Colette with her usual accuracy scored twice in quick succession, 7-2. The Reds then began to come into the game and scored 3 times to make it 7-5. Again this was the fright the girls needed and they lifted their game scoring 4 more from Rachel(2), Colette and Sophie. Final Score: Falkirk Ladies 11 - 5 Falkirk Academy Reds Scorers: Rachel(4), Colette (3), Jas, Keira, Shalana, Sophie Squad: Laura, Mel, Stef (Rebekah), Shalana (Carly), Keira (Sophie), Rachel, Jas(Colette)(Sarah) It was good to see Laura back in goals and the 2 trialists, Rebekah and Sarah strengthened the squad.
