U13s Remain Top of League (August 08, 2009) The U13s travelled to Cumbernauld this morning with 6 of the usual squad missing but fortunately had 3 trialists who all played their part in this win over Cumbernauld Colts. It took 15mins for the girls to open the scoring when Jas controlled the ball inside the box and passed to Shalana who slotted it past their keeper. 0-1. A couple of minutes later Shalana made it 0-2 . However we were caught on the break when we had a corner which was cleared by the Colts and they attacked and scored 1-2. The girls picked themselves up and fought back with Rachel scoring before half time to make it 1-3. In the second half Jas replaced Corri in goals but had little to do as we had the majority of the possession and with another goal each from Shalana and Rachel the final score was 1-5. For their first league game the 3 trialists, Rebekah, Megan and Sarah all played well and will be a great asset to our squad. Rebekah playing right back was exceptional with her positioning and the timing of her clearances. Megan played midfield and later played in defence where she looked more comfortable.Sarah played defence in the second half and was confident and assured in this position.
