The U13s played the team 3rd in the leage, Motherwell Academy at Sunnyside today and this was the best team performance of the season so far with every player doing thier bit for an emphatic win.

It was Colette who opened the scoring with a powerful strike after winning the ball on the left wing and driving past the defender before unleashing her shot. Then it was Rachel's turn to score after Shalana put the ball through for her and Rachel finished with great accuracy. Rachel repaid Shalana minutes later when she crossed the ball in from the left and Shalana hit it first time.

However it was Motherwell who came out the stronger in the second half and pulled 2 goals back within 10 mins. But this gave us the shock we needed and the girls lifted their game with Shalana scoring her 2nd to make it 4-2 and Jas scored 2 goals to make it 6-2. Her second goal was taken with great composure and hit firmly and accurately. Colette managed to score 1 more and Rachel finished  the game with a goal of her own after dribbling past 3 players to slot the ball past their keeper.

 

Mel and Stef were outstanding in defence and you can see their confidence and communication improving with every game. Rachel was the driving force in midfield, controlling the game and not allowing Motherwell time on the ball. Shalana worked tirelessly in midfield, tracking back when required and not giving up. Keira was solid in centre mid and Colette finished with her usual accuarcy but also had to work hard when moved into midfield in the second half . Jas has great control of the ball and movement off the ball and is getting stronger with every game. Leona came on at left mid and after not playing for 6 weeks due to a broken wrist did extremely well. She did not panic on the ball but tried to keep possession and was tracking her player back as well as driving forward when she could.
