Blues Remain Undefeated!! (May 19, 2009)
Falkirk LFC Blue V Motherwell
Saturday 16th May
Kick Off: 10am
Weather conditions: Fair
Grandad Roy Reports:
Blues kicked of against the wind and both teams fought hard to gain upper hand. Motherwell attacked more consistently in the first 8 min's and won a corner kick. The Blues allowed the Motherwell centre forward too much room and she flicked the ball past the near post 0-1. Motherwell pressed the blues but again the defence was strong and cleared any threats with their usual confidence. The Blues were struggling to get into their usual rhythm and both teams made very few attacks in this half. Both teams were equally canceling each oother out with some great defending on display.
Half Time: Falkirk LFC Blue 0 v 1 Motherwell
The second half started much the same as the first and it was another ten minutes before the blues finally got into their footballing mode. They were the better attacking team and played the better passing football and were denied two good penalty claims. After continuous pressure on the Motherwell goal area the blues finally got a break in the 68th min. A good corner from Amanda into penalty area was not cleared and Susie was truly alert and smashed the ball into the net1-1!
Full Time: Falkirk LFC Blue 1 v 1 Motherwell
The Blues deserved a lot more out of this game with their second half performance. Motherwell only managed two attacks in the whole of the second half and were very panicky under constant pressure. It was a very good second half performance from all the team who never let the early goal panic them – WELL DONE!!
