U13s Remain Unbeaten In The League (May 02, 2009)
The U13s traveled to Stenhousemuir this morning and it took less than 2 mins for Colette to open the scoring with a neat touch past the keeper after Corri had played a long ball from our goalmouth.0-1
Falkirk continued to dominate and Rachel made a great run down the left wing going past 2 players before crossing the ball into the box where again Colette was on hand to divert the ball into goal 0-2 A few mins later it was after some great link up play between Corri, Rachel and Colette that the ball landed nicely for Shalana to slot past the keeper. 0-3
Two mins later Corri picked the ball up within her own half and from the half way line took a fabulous shot at goal which ended up in the top corner .0-4 It was Shalana who scored the next goal with a superb left foot strike leaving their keeper no chance. 0-5 And Colette got the 6th when Corri struck the ball into the box and the keeper dropped and Colette was sharp enough to get her foot to the ball first to slide it past the keeper 0-6
The 7th goal came from a Stef corner which rebounded to Corri who calmly slotted it into the corner 0-7
Stenhousemuir managed to get one back before half time from a corner 1-7 but Falkirk responded straight away with Shalana getting her third of the game 1-8
Half time 1-8
Stenhousemuir got the first goal of the second half 2-8 but again we responded and Shalana won the ball before passing to Colette who neatly slotted it past the keeper. 2-9
Then Corri made a strong run dribbling past a few players before striking a powerful shot past their keeper 2-10
Final Score: Stenhousemuir 2 - 10 Falkirk Ladies
Scorers: Colette(4), Corri(3), Shalana(3)
Overall this was a great result although the scoreline does not reflect how close the game was as Stenhousemuir are a strong physical side with some players with great ability. They closed us down and fought for everything making it very difficult for us. They were also unlucky on 3 or 4 occasions when their shots struck the bar or just went the wrong side of the post. With a few players having to come off due to injuries it was important to have a full squad and again every player was used.
Squad: Corri (Laura), Mel, Stef, Rachel, Keira (Sophie), Shalana (Carly),Colette (Cherise)
