An Italian Adventure! (April 30, 2009) Falkirk Ladies' Nicky Docherty once again got the chance to pull on her Scotland jersey this month when she travelled to Italy to play in the WU17 Tri Nations International Tournament in Italy. Part of an 18 player squad Nicky played in the two friendly games:
Scotland v Germany
22 April - Castelfranco di Sotto, Italy
Italy v Scotland
23 April - San Guiliano Terme, Itlay
Although the squad was beaten 4-1 by Germany and 3-1 by Italy, National Coach Ann-Helen Graham was very pleased with the performances and has alot to think about for the team's next campaigns.
An added bonus for the girls is that the Italy match was hown live on Italian TV, showing just how much they embrace the women's game in that country.
