U13s Make it 3 League Wins out of 3 (April 04, 2009) It was good to have a full squad of 12 and also trialist Sophie available today for the home game against Cumbernauld Colts and every player was utilised.
It took 10 mins before Falkirk settled into their usual passing game and Rachel opened the scoring after a through ball from Keira which still left Rachel with 2 players to beat before she shot for goal 1-0
A few mins later we were awarded a corner which Rachel swung in towards goal and Colette was well positioned to ensure it crossed the line 2-0
Keira was replaced by Carly and Stef came on for Leona.
Rachel was unlucky not to make it 3 when her strike on 20 mins just went wide but on 25mins she scored after a great pass on from Colette 3-0
With confidence now on a high Rachel took a long range effort which left their keeper little chance 4-0 - Half time
At the start of the second half trialist Sophie came on at centre mid , Shalana at right mid and Caity as striker. Colette had a couple of chances and successfully chipped their keeper on her second attempt to make it 5-0.
And it was Sophie who scored our 6th goal after some great link up play with Rachel. 6-0
It was Cumbernauld who managed to pull one back after Laura couldn't manage to hold onto a powerful strike. 6-1
But Falkirk kept pushing on and after a strong run from Colette down the wing she crossed it into the box where the keeper managed to get a touch but Jas was quick to strike and hit the back of the net 7-1
In the last seconds cumbernauld were awarded a free kick at the edge of the box and the shot was well placed into the top corner. 7-2
Overall this was a great result with every girl playing their part. Sophie was outstanding in the centre of the park especially as she has never played at this level before. She has great ball control and awareness for the game. She tackled for everything in the middle of the park, tracked back to help her defence but was also on hand inside the box to score her first goal for Falkirk. Rachel, as always, was tireless all over the park and controlled the majority of the play along with Colette and Shalana.
Final Score: Falkirk Ladies 7 - 2 Cumbernauld Colts
