U-13s Win Second League Game (March 21, 2009)
The U-13s travelled to Wishaw to play Motherwell Academy today and only took 5 mins to open the scoring after some good play between Carly and Rachel who then passed the ball through for Colette to score. 0-1
A couple of mins later it was Rachel who scored after great link up play between herself and Colette. Rachel's shot was saved by the keeper but she was quick to get in fot the rebound and make it 0-2.
On 15 mins Corri came on for Keira and Caity for Carly and it was Corri who made it 0-3 when Colette crossed the ball into the box and Corri struck it first time leaving their keeper no chance. 5 mins later Rachel made it 0-4 after Corri passed the ball through for her to neatly slot past the keeper. On 22 mins Rachel repaid Corri by providing a great pass through for her to make it 0-5 and a few mins later Rachel made it 0-6 and completed her hat trick.
Half time 0-6
Rachel and Colette were replaced by Keira and Carly and Cherise came on for Caity. Motherwell Academy were the stronger side in the second half and scored 2 goals within the first 10mins. They were then awarded a soft penalty which they scored from making it 3-6. With 10 mins left Caity replaced Corri and at right mid she worked hard and given space she looked composed on the ball. Cherise continued to work hard up front and pressurised their defence.
Final Score: Motherwell Academy 3 - 6 Falkirk Ladies
Scorers: Rachel(3), Corri(2), Colette
Squad: Laura, Stef, Mel, Rachel, Keira (Corri), Colette, Carly (Caity)(Cherise)
Sub Not Used: Jas
This was a superb team display with all the squad getting game time (except Jas who was not well) and the game was well won in the first half. The link up play between Rachel, Colette, Carly and Corri was superb and proved how easy it is to open up the opposition's defence. Stef and Mel had more to do in the second half and coped with most of the pressure.
