Dumfries Ladies V Falkirk Ladies.

After knocking eight (8) passed Tynecastle Ladies the Sunday before the Falkirk Ladies squad travelled south to Dumfries in confident mood.  The previous visit to the Borders town last season ended in a 5-4 defeat and this was something that the coaching team were keen to avoid this time around.

The coaching team were devoid of four (4) players from the regular 19 squad due to injury and other commitments, however this was to fade into significance as the ladies put in a monumental performance against a very weak home side………

* Goal – 14min – A Shirley Martin free-kick finds Nicole Letford in the box to finish neatly.                     0-2

* Goal – 32min – Shirley plays a delightful ball into the path of Nicole Letford to grab her 2^nd                                0-3

* Goal – 35min – A corner from the left finds Maxine and her header beats the keeper.                          0-4

* Goal – 37min – Shirley’s pass releases Ashley through on goal, around the keeper and goal no5       0-5

* Goal – 42min – Ashley grabs her 2^nd of the game with a neat shot inside the penalty area.                   0-6

* Goal – 43min – Kerry Kennedy’s right foot shot from the edge of the box beats the luckless keeper  0-7

* Goal – 44min – Ashley works her way to the by-line and her cross is finished by Jenny Godfrey         0-8

* Goal – 45min – Lisa Sutherland finds space on the edge of the box and fires home.                                              0-9

Dumfries Ladies (0) V (9) Falkirk Ladies

The look on the Dumfries goal-keeper said it all as the players left the field at halftime as the Falkirk Ladies totally controlled the match from the first minute.  Coach Wilson was delighted with the first 45 minutes however pressed the point that a healthy goal advantage would do their league campaign the world of good and so demanded the players continue with the on-slaught towards the Dumfries goal.

* 46min – A Dumfries free-kick on the edge of the box is saved easily by Nat.

* Goal – 50min – Ashley works her way to the by-line and Nicole Letford meets the cross for no 10       0-10

* Goal – 70min – Nicole Letford again finds space in the Dumfries penalty area and slots home             .               0-11

* Goal – 75min – A strong run from Nicole see’s her collect goal number 5 for her with a fine finish    0-12

* Goal – 87min – 2^nd half substitute, Laura Yuill, get’s in on the act by grabbing a goal near the end.    0-13

“Totally Delighted” was the feeling with the coaching team as the players had continued their rich vain of scoring form with a comprehensive victory over a sorry Dumfries side.  The players did take their foot off the gas a little in the 2^nd period which is understandable given the score-line at halftime.
