Grandad Roy reports:
Celtic kicked off in what turned out to be a very good football match. Both teams were very evenly matched and were totally committed throughout the match with some very good tackling and good football. The first half was very entertaining to watch and chances were had from both teams. Good saves from both keepers however kept the score line at 0-0. The Celtic goalkeeper was the busier of the two with two great saves. Both defense’s were on top form today as were the midfield with the strikers working very hard up top and any attacking play was quickly closed down.
Half Time: Falkirk Blue 0 v 0 Celtic
Second half was much the same as first with two very evenly teams fighting it out. Both teams had chances but squandered one or two, and again both defenses’s standing strong. Just as it looked as if a draw was on the cards Celtic were awarded a free kick in the 64th minute which was taken quickly keeper saved. From the kick out a couple of players switched off and the Celtic forward got to the ball first to slot it home 0 – 1. Falkirk went all out attack after that but sadly just could not find the back of the net.
Full Time: Falkirk Blue 0 v 1 Celtic
This game could have been mistaken for a cup final instead of a pre-season friendly such was the determination shown from both teams. Both team coaches must be delighted with their teams, very good performances from all players involved, and very good support from both team’s parents and friends.
This game must give Shirley, Ashley and the girl’s great confidence for the coming season proving that the blues are potentially a league winning team and can compete with the best from other regions.
Looking forward to the new season good luck J
