Hibs Colts No Real Problem
(September 21, 2008)
Falkirk U17s played Hibs Colts today at Meggetland in Edinburgh. Coach Doc changed up his team for todays match to allow all his players to get a run out.
Falkirk were strong from the start and within 16 minutes striker Eva Rule had opened the scoring. But the Colts team defended well and blocked all of the visitors attempts on goal.
1-0 at half-time.
Coach Doc had a good team talk at half time and stressed the need to do better in the second half. The girls responded well to his words and began to relax on the ball. But it took another 15 minutes before Lauren Hastings got on the end of a crossed ball and looped her header over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0. Straight away Lisa Sutherland played a through ball and Shannen Lister finished it , 3-0.
Two minutes later it was four when Laura Glegg turned in the box and placed the goal away. The final goal came from a breakaway when striker Emma White finished with a great shot. 5-0!
The girls played really well in the second half and again Coach Doc was very proud of his team. He reminded all the players that he has a big squad and that everyone needs to work hard.
Thanks to the water boy and bus driver Davie for his help today.
