U-17s Draw Last League Game of Season

The U-17s travelled to Dunfermline to play the Scottish Cup finalists in their last league game of the season. The girls started the game well and put continuous pressure on the Dunfermline defence from the kick off. Sheryl had the first shot on goal within the first few minutes and Lisa quickly followed although neither shot had enough power to trouble the keeper. Lisa's shot moments later went inches wide of the post. Nicky was next to try her luck when she played a short corner to Kerry who gave her the ball back and Nicky's shot again just went wide. Falkirk then won a corner after a great shot by Lisa was tipped past the post by the fingertips of the keeper. On 25mins Jenny won the ball and drove forward from the half way line to inside the box where she unleashed a powerful, low shot which the keeper just managed to get a hand to but Nicky wasn't sharp enough to get the rebound and the defender cleared for a corner. Jenny swung in the corner and after a couple of rebounds it landed for Maxine whose left foot shot beat the keeper.0 - 1
A few minutes later Jenny punted the ball high up towards the box and Sheryl chased putting pressure on the defender who tried to head it back to her keeper but it went over her head and into the net. 0 - 2
Half time 0 - 2
In the second half Dunfermline came out the stronger team and created lots more chances. Within minutes they had pulled a goal back after a long ball was won by their striker whose shot left Natalie no chance. 1 - 2
Dunfermline were winning the midfield battle and causing problems for Falkirk but Jade managed to win the ball in the middle of the park and she played a great ball through for Sheryl to run onto. Sheryl caught the ball at the bye line and cut it back across goal to Nicky whose shot was deflected by the keeper to Jade whose shot then rebounded off a defender. Falkirk had a few more strikes at goal from Lisa, Kerry, Jenny, Nicky and Sheryl but none could find the back of the net.
Hannah came on for the injured Jenny.
Jade played another great ball through for Sheryl who found herself through on the keeper but her shot was deflected.
Seconds before the final whistle Dunfermline attacked down their right and the striker created space for herself and her shot left Natalie stranded. 2 - 2
