Seniors Game Against Dundee Utd
(March 21, 2004)
This weeks Falkirk team had a few
surprise changes with centre half Fiona Kane, being pushed forward into a
holding central midfield role to support playmaker Martin. Right back Gemma
Kirkwood was pushed into right midfield, again to strengthen our
attack.
Falkirk started the game much the same as every other week,
positive and heading for goal.
However, much the same as every other week, Falkirk conceded
a goal then another.
There was not many chances on goal, however when Falkirk got
the chance the cross bar was as close as they got. In the first half, Hunter hit
a brilliant strike from 20 yards and hit the under side of the cross bar and
came back out, letting Dundee Utd off the hook. The second half saw a
strike from Martin again hit the bar.
Dundee Utd had a player sent off in the first half for
dissent, Falkirk really looking to cash in on this, however they were unable
to.
The dying minutes of the game saw Martin whip in a decent
corner and McDonald towered above everyone else to score with her head.
Game finished Falkirk 1 - 2 Dundee Utd
Team: Melv, Harris, Lafferty, Brycie, Zilliken, Kirkwood, Kaney, Beattie,
