U13 Falkirk 2 - 1 Clyde Cumbernauld (March 30, 2008)
The U13 squad had another great performance on Saturday morning defeating Clyde Cumbernauld 2-1 at Sunnyside.
Corri Cairns came close to opening the scoring after ten minutes with her glancing header hitting the post from Rachael Donaldsons corner. Five minutes later Cairns was unlucky to find the back of the net again after another good delivery from Donadson saw the Clyde Cumbernaild keeper make a good save from Corri's flick on.
Falkirk broke the dead lock 10 minutes into the second half. Louise Green was fouled from behind and the awarded penalty was clamly conveted by Cairns.
Falkirk added another goal as McPhee played a ball over the top and McCann lashed a powerful half volley past the Clyde Cumbernauld goal keeper.
Falkirk were unfortunate in the final seconds of the game, a lapse of concentration allowed the Clyde forward through on goal putting the ball past Kearney in the Falkirk goal.
Falkirk had several other chances thorughout the game. The Clyde keeper made some great saves to keep the bairns at bay. Kearney in the Falkirk goal was rarely troubled as her team mates kept good possession of the ball and dominated play. Another good performace sets the squad up for an exciting challange next Saturday morning against Celtic in the quarter final of the Scottish Cup.
