Falkirk LFC Invitational Tournament (August 05, 2007)
Falkirk Ladies played host to a friendly tournament at Dunipace Juniors FC earlier today with teams from Buchan LFC, Cowdenbeath Ladies & Killie Ladies in attendance. Four games were played over 6 hours in torrential rain which hampered the quality of football at times.

Falkirk played some lovely passing football in their first match against Killie & had wave after wave of attack throughout the game. Goals came from : Ashley McDonald, Alana Marshall, Kerry Graham, Vicky Ross & Shirley Martin in this comprehensive 5-2 victory.
The final against Cowdenbeath was marred by the heavy downpour that continued for the duration of the match making the pitch very muddy underfoot. Cowdenbeath coped better and some slick passing moves & very sharp strikers make Falkirk pay early on in the match as they moved into a 2-0 lead. Ashley got her 2nd goal of the day after fighting well to receive a ball played through by Ruadh but just minutes after the goal Cowdenbaeth scored another & were 3-1 at half-time.
Unable to raise their game any more in the 2nd half Cowdenbeath just kept solid in defense & stopped any slim chances the home side had. Just on full time they scored a 4th and the match ended 4-1.
Cowdenbeath were then crowned champions of this inaugural festival that will hopefully be repeated every year with the same teams.
