History of Falkirk LFC

HISTORY

Falkirk Girls Football Club was formed in March 1993 by a group of ladies looking to play organised football. At the same time Falkirk Football Club were starting girls-only coaching sessions and both groups got together to create 3 teams; Under-13, Under-16 and Senior Ladies.  The Ladies entered the Scottish Women’s League and the girls’ teams the West of Scotland Girls Football League. In 1996 the ladies teams folded but another age group, Under-14 was formed.

As the years have progressed so has the development of girl’s football and therefore the club now has the following teams:

  • 11's
  • 13's
  • 15's
  • 17's
  • Senior Ladies

Falkirk Ladies senior team play in the Scottish Womens Premiere League and the four youth teams play in regional leagues within the Central Girls Football League. The club currently has over 70 playing members with around 16 coaches, volunteers and parents actively involved in the running of the club and its teams.
