About Falkirk Ladies FC
Background
Falkirk Girls Football Club was formed in March 1993 by a group of ladies looking to play organised football. At the same time Falkirk Football Club were starting girls-only coaching sessions and both groups got together to create 3 teams; Under-13, Under-16 and Senior Ladies.
The Ladies entered the Scottish Women’s League and the girls’ teams the West of Scotland Girls Football League. In 1996 the ladies teams folded but another age group, Under-14 was formed.
In 1998/1999 Falkirk Football Club formally adopted the girl’s section and another ladies team was formed. A few years later Falkirk School of Football was created to develop all areas of Community Football and the girls teams sat within that heading. As the years have progressed so has the development of girl’s football and therefore the club now has the following teams:
Ø Senior Ladies
Ø Under-13
Ø Under-15 Blues
Ø Under-15 Reds
